The above is my new house. I moved most of my stuff in earlier today and am moving the rest later tonight. It’s a really nice place, and the German girls I’m going to be living with seem like cool people. I walked around the new neighborhood today and I think it is going to be a nice place to live. There are a ton of restaurants, bars, shops, etc., very close by.
Here’s the main living room area when you walk in the front door:
Here’s the dining/room area right off of the kitchen:
One good thing is that’s about the biggest refrigerator I’ve seen in a house in Vietnam. A lot of Vietnamese have these tiny little refrigerators – like the house I’ve been living in for the past month, for example. I bought a case of Heineken when Glenda and Jun were here and when I put the cans in the refrigerator it took up like two whole shelves. I’m sure my Vietnamese foster family thought an alcoholic had moved in.
Here’s my bed:
Check out that sweet headboard. The only words that come to mind for it are “pimptacular” and/or perhaps even “magniculous.”
The other side of my room, which is unfortunately much less swanktastic/mackadocious:
Looking into my bathroom from my room:
No photo of the toilet but you should be apprised that it has a bidet (!).
Here’s my favorite thing about the new house – the huge porch off of my room:
And here’s the view of our street from the porch:
I’m very excited about the new place!
One word: “Ballin’!” Is it relatively quiet there as well?
