Ah, Film

While I am home, I am going to scan in a bunch of old film photos and post them on my blog.  They probably won’t be in chronological order, but I’ll at least try to keep photos from the same time period – or from a certain trip, etc. – together.

This first set is comprised of some random photos going back to my high school days.  The above is the rail of our deck after a party I had while my dad was out of town on business.  I am sure our neighbors loved us!  If you look close, you can see that, amidst the numerous Milwaukee’s Best cans (yes, we were classy), are some bottles of Mickey’s Big Mouth Green Malt Liquor in the Barrel Bottle.  And yes, there’s also a beer bong hanging over the rail.

Here are my friends Katie, Norissa, and I on my 17th birthday:

Here are my old girlfriend, Jessica, and me in our high school newspaper, “The Rebel Yell”, in 10th grade – so about 1987:

For some reason, I went through a phase in 9th or 10th grade where I liked to light things on fire – in this case my old Converse Chuck Taylor tennis shoe – and take photos of them.  I am sure that is some diagnosable disorder:

When I lived in Virginia with my dad, a local restaurant called the Snow White Grill would feature diners in their weekly newspaper ad.  Here are my friends Kathleen, Angie, and me – probably around 1988:

Also in Virginia, here are some friends of mine and me posing after setting up a bunch of hay bales “advertising” our junior class variety show – thus the letters “JV”.  Why hay bales, I have no idea – other than that we were a bunch of Virginia rednecks.  That’s me throwing up the peace sign:

I found this Athens, Ga. – Inside Out tape – yes, cassette tape, pre-CD – in a box of photos.  It was one of my favorite tapes in high school.  I’ve tried to find it on CD, but I can’t find that it’s ever been released on CD.  I do have the DVD of the documentary to which it is the soundtrack.  Awesome tape!

Here’s another photo from prom night, 1989:

My buddy Dave C. and I went to our first Dead show during our senior year in May 1989.  Here’s Dave C. pondering whether he’s going to have his energy balanced:

My 10th grade ID card:

I’m sure we thought posing with the cooler was cool:

Hugging pages on our trip to the Georgia capitol in 9th grade:

More Champ – this time on graduation night:
