The above is a video of our next-door neighbor’s 20-year-old dog. He does exactly what he’s doing in the above video – which is lie on our neighbor’s porch and bark – all day long. There’s almost constant background noise of this dark barking.
Before we even moved into the new office, Tim and I were here working one day on the construction punchlist. The dog, which we had never seen before, started barking and I told Tim we needed to add the following item to the punchlist: “Kill neighbor’s dog.” Then we walked up to our top-floor porch and looked over and saw how old he is and I said “Nevermind, he doesn’t have long to go anyway.”
We’ve since learned that he’s 20 – which is pretty damn old for a dog – and that he is insane. Apparently he used to be a normal, sweet dog, but since he’s gotten old he’s become vicious and they can’t take him outside without muzzling him. He also has taken a liking to lying around all day and barking.
It doesn’t bother me that bad for some reason – maybe I’m just used to it. It does bother Tim and some of the Vietnamese. Tim is planning on talking to the neighbor about it, but I can tell that the Vietnamese are thinking “good luck with that.”
So anyway, until our neighbor’s dog – which I have nicknamed “Homey” – finally kicks off, we have the above sounds to look forward to at work every day!
