Going to be an Ugly One at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium

[Update: Not as ugly as I feared. Ole Miss did lose, but only by 6 points. Florida was up by a lot more than that, but Ole Miss kept catching up and it tool a Florida interception of an Ole Miss pass to finally put Ole Miss out of it. Georgia beat Bama in overtime; LSU beat South Carolina; Notre Dame is 0-4 for the first time in history; and GA Tech lost its second straight - this one to Virginia - and is now 2-2.]

Ole Miss plays Florida later today.  I’ve finally figured out how to watch some football games online – my plan is to go into the office at 11:30pm tonight (12:30pm EST in the U.S.) to watch the Ole Miss vs. Florida game, and to spend the night in the office and get up at 6:30am (7:30pm EST) to watch the UGA vs. Alabama game as well.  We’ll see.

But I imagine it’s going to be a very long day for the Rebels today.  So far we’ve beaten Memphis and lost to Missouri and Vanderbilt.  So far Florida has beaten the living hell out of everyone they’ve played – including thrashing Tennessee last weekend 59-20 (!).

Florida is favored by 23.5 the last I saw, and I hate to say it but I am afraid the smart money is on Florida.

South Carolina also plays LSU – which has played like a pro team so far this season – so while South Carolina has played well so far and has a chance, it is likely to be a long day for the Cocks as well.

I am excited to finally see a little football!
