I’ve started to get a feel for the neighborhood around our new office. I was very happy to find out that there’s a nice juice bar right around the corner from our office – about a 2 minute walk. And the best thing is they deliver!
So I’ve started drinking a smoothie and a shot of wheatgrass juice every morning and also mid-afternoon – which has replaced my mid-afternoon cà phê sưa nóng (coffee milk hot) or Coke and chocolate. So far I’ve tried banana/strawberry/yogurt, mango/papaya, and sau rieng (durian) smoothies – and all of them have been excellent. The wheatgrass juice tastes like drinking a bag of lawn clippings, but is supposed to be excellent for you.
Anyway, here are a couple of photos of the juice bar:

Also, right next door is a tea shop that sells about every variety of tea you can imagine. I bought a huge bag of very good green tea – half a kilogram – for 34,000 dong (about $2.13 – photo disturbingly reminiscent of the earlier photo from Happy Herb’s below):

And here’s a photo of the tea shop itself:

We’ve also found a restaurant right down the street that makes good vegetarian and non-vegetarian food and is very cheap. Five of us ate lunch there today for 163,000 dong (about $10.15).
So the new office is working out great and we’re getting settled into the new neighborhood.
